A teacher, who is delivering a lecture in a classroom, has different situations to face than an online teacher. A classroom teacher can easily witness the performance of his or her students.

S/he can see whether a student understands a lecture, is interested in it and so on. However, an online teacher cannot do so. There are various technologies and strategies applied for teaching at a distance.

Why do teachers opt for distance learning when it is difficult?

It is better to clarify the question above. We cannot see things the way that teachers do. They have a different approach towards teaching at a distance.

The first and foremost thing a teacher should keep in mind is the quality and quantity of content. As the teacher and the student are not physically at one place, they cannot judge each other by their expressions.

The content of the lecture should be precise. This helps in relieving pressure on students, as they know how much they have to get done.

Learning approaches: Some students prefer learning in groups while others would like to study independently.

Local Case Studies and Examples: There should be some local case studies and examples in the content. It is helpful for students to gain a better understanding of a subject.

Practical strategies: There are strategies adopted to reinforce student learning. Such strategies help a student as well as the teacher to make a subject clearer.

Feedback:Acquiring students’ feedback helps a teacher significantly. Therefore, it is adopted as one of the basic strategies to improve the teaching system.
